47th Annual Turkey Trot – A Downtown Tradition

Thanksgiving in Downtown Dallas is a true tradition, and all of us in the West End hope you will come on down for tomorrows  47th Annual Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot  – taking place in the Downtown corridor in and around the district. The Turkey trot is a tradition that draws people from all over the country each year, and fills the downtown corridor with families, friends and runners. The best part is that even if you’re not a runner or walker, there are tons of fun activities for the whole family to enjoy including clowns, pony rides, bounce houses, live musical entertainment and so much more!

Street closures are in effect so if you live in Big D, or plan on visiting – we have included the organized route, street closures, and DART alternatives for your consideration below or you can visit the website at www.thetrot.org.

CLOSURES: On November 26-27, from 1:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m., both the southbound and northbound lanes of Akard Street will be closed between Young Street and Marilla Street.

On November 27, from 4:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the eastbound lanes of Young Street will be closed between Griffin Street and Akard Street. Also, the eastbound and westbound lanes of Young Street will be closed between Evergreen Street and Harwood Street.
