Our public safety program exists because of the commitment made by West End Association Property Owners, Businesses, Resident & Visitor donations.
As a vibrant historic and innovative district with so much to offer residents, office workers and visitors public safety is our number one priority. Not only do we provide professional private security and resources through the Expanded Neighborhood Patrol Program provided by off duty Dallas Police, but we also collaborate with our downtown partners to give our neighborhood a proactive approach to safety.Â
Every dollar received is used to provide and improve our public safety mission daily.
The West End Public Safety Program is supported by its members who pay monthly security contributions. These contributions are 100% tax deductibleÂ
$545.00 is the Average Daily Cost to provide public safety 7 days per week within the Historic West End District.Â
Services are provided Monday-Friday (7am – 3pm), Saturday (12p- 12am) and Sunday (12pm-6:30pm); we are seeking to expand evening hour coverage in 2022 with additional donations and increased membership participation.
Our Security Officers and Off Duty Police Officers provide on foot and vehicle patrols throughout the West End Association areas of responsibility (property contained within the boundaries of Lamar Street, Elm Street, Houston Street and the Woodall Rodgers Freeway. They conduct hour checks for quality of life issues and criminal complaints. Our members who contribute monthly to the West End Public Safety Program are provided hourly checks of their private commercial and residential property, parking lots, restaurants, retail space, and office buildings.
You can text 833-297-3300, 7 days per week between the hours of 6am – 12 midnight. Provide a detailed description about the location & incident, and a security and/or off duty police resources will be dispatched. Depending on the information given, a recommendation to contact 911 or 311 will be assessed.
